Swallow Fish, Seahouses

Founded in 1843 and located in the original smokehouse, Swallow Fish is the go-to place for buying smoked and fresh fish in Seahouses.

Credited as being the ‘birthplace of the kipper’, Swallow Fish smoke their fish over traditional oak sawdust which has no additives, preservatives or colourings of any kind – the same process as was used back in 1843.

Swallow Fish is somewhat famous, having been featured as one of Rick Stein’s very first Food Heroes and the shop has even been visited by the food-loving Prince of Wales!
