Perfect for children aged 8 and upwards, the ‘Golden Kipper’ treasure hunt trail is an excellent way to spend a couple of hours with the kids, explore Seahouses and find out some of the history of the area along the way.
If you manage to solve all the clues and find out the location of the treasure, you can even enter into a prize draw to win £100!
The trail starts from Seahouses Visitor Information Centre and takes you on a fairly flat, 2 mile loop around North Sunderland and Seahouses.
You can either have the treasure hunt clues sent to you in the post or you can download and print them yourself at home. They can be purchased from:
www.treasuretrails.co.uk/things-to-do/northumberland/seahouses
Great for dogs because they can accompany you around the whole trail. Part of the route is along an old railway path so, if you judge it safe, you can let them wander off the lead.
Great for kids because they’ll love the challenge of following the clues to find their way along the trail and solving the puzzles at each of the stops. If you need a break along the way, approximately halfway through the trail you’ll be back in Seahouses Main Street where there are plenty of cafes to stop for a snack before you complete the rest of the treasure hunt.
